For someone who is just starting out, I would recommend getting a pre-built complete skateboard instead of building a custom skateboard complete.

A pre-built complete saves you the trouble of choosing every skateboard part individually. It is generally more affordable too, making it a practical way to find out whether skateboarding is right for you.

The trade-off is that custom skateboards are usually built with higher-quality individual parts. This can make the skateboard feel more responsive and perform better when doing tricks.
